Here Is to a Firm Foundation

Here Is to a Firm Foundation

This week has been emotional. Not because I am scared or nervous about launching Spirit Drop, but because these are the kind of moments I wish I could share with my mama. She would have been the most excited, the one who could not wait to tell everyone, the one with all the advice, and probably some criticism too, because what are mamas for if they cannot tell you when you did something wrong.

Not being able to share these details with her has been harder than I expected. Grief is strange like that. It hurts because the person you most want to share with is not here, but it also hurts when you find yourself staying quiet altogether. Both silences ache.

But grief is also proof of great love. If we can love our mamas this much, imagine how deep and immeasurable the Father’s love for us must be. It is indescribable. And that is the kind of love I want every child to know.

In July, Tim and I went to Motion Youth Conference, and one of the speakers shared a statistic that shook me. When asked about Jesus, only 4 to 6 percent of kids truly knew who He is. One of the biggest reasons is that many parents are not being discipled themselves, so they feel unequipped to disciple their children.

I also recently read that on average, children spend only thirty-seven minutes of quality time with their caregiver each day. Thirty-seven minutes. That number stopped me in my tracks.

And that is why Spirit Drop exists. With those thirty-seven minutes, why not use them to build connection, to share truth, and to plant seeds that last? Spirit Drop gives families simple ways to gather, to learn together, and to experience the love of their Good Father. That is the kind of foundation our children need, one they can stand firm on for the rest of their lives.

We are our children’s first teachers, and what an honor that is. We get to show them not only with our words, but with our presence, our time, and our love.

Here is to changing statistics. Here is to shaping generations. Here is to a firm foundation.
The very first Spirit Drop begins today and I am so thankful you are here for it!

Cheering you on always, with joy and gratitude,

Tyne
